Cullen, Robert (Fr.)
Father Robert Cullen was ordained in 1958. According to public records from the 1960s, the mother of a survivor reported to the Maryland Province of Jesuits that Robert Cullen sexually abused her daughter when she was between the ages of eight and fourteen. No action was taken to notify authorities, identify additional victims, or restrict Cullen’s access to children.
In 2015, the survivor reported Cullen’s abuse, and the Jesuits made the mandatory report. They have acknowledged there were multiple victims of Cullen during his time at Loyola Blakefield but have not provided any further information. In 2019, the Maryland Province of Jesuits included Cullen on its list of “Jesuits with an allegation of an offense against a minor (anyone under the age of 18) that could not be fully investigated to determine credibility, but for which there is a reasonable possibility (a semblance of truth) that the alleged offense occurred.”
